Chef David Saffell, Executive Chef of Blackwall Hitch Baltimore, began his culinary life at the tender age of 16 before pursuing formal training at the Art Institute of Dallas. Chef David’s Texas roots are displayed in his penchant for southwestern flavors though 11 years in the Mid-Atlantic region has grown his appreciation for local seafood and produce.  Chef David describes his culinary style as a modern take on traditional comfort foods and dishes through the incorporation of regionally grown, minimally processed, quality ingredients. “Good food should be memorable. By taking a dish that brings nostalgia to a diner while exposing that guest to new techniques I look to inspire new memories.”
